I understand it applies to the gen2 versions (at least in the US it does). I did have an issue with my accelerator sticking yesterday, but found that my mat had slipped under it! eeek,

i think that was the issue in the states TBH.
dont think its a problem with the car as much as it is with mat design.

" a spokesman in the UK said it did not yet know how many of the cars in its range sold in the UK - which includes the Prius, Rav4 off-roader, the British-built Avensis saloon and Auris hatchback and Yaris super-mini - will be affected by the fault but was working to tackle the problem.
But City analysts calculate up top two million cars "

here is a bit of the report...................

The Gen2 problem was the with the mats.

The new problem seems to be an accelerator pedal that wears out then sticks.
Over on Prius Chat in the USA, they are saying that so far, no model of Prius is involved in the latest recall.
It seems to be Toyotas made in N America that are most affected so perhaps in the UK we won't be hit so badly.

Were you using the mat hooks?
Stops that kind of thing happening.

With the previous mat issue, on the Gen 2, the accelerator pedal on the UK model has a metal rod with two bends in the rod, whereas the US model had a plastic arm (rod doesn't quite seem an appropriate word) that was straight. So I could see how the UK model might not be affected previously, I don't know whether that will also be the case with this new issue.
