having traveled many thousand miles in my fourth Toyota prius now in Gen. 3 since September 2009 17000 miles would not swap it for any other car faults or not considering how many cars
Toyota build their is going to be faults i have not encountered any faults with any of my toyotas if the braking problem saved me going in to a slide in the snow i am grateful . i get behind the wheel
of my toyota with confidence of safe reliable economic driving i drive average 40000 miles per year for last 16years my Gen. 3 now has to work i hope to put 250000 mile on this one that is why
i have confidence that it will do the distance and i still thank toyota for a great car

Crikey you do the same sort of mileage as me though I am only upto 10k at the moment having put mine to work November 2009. I was planning on a life mileage of 160,000 so if I get a few more than that I'll be happy. Not sure it'll be worth much after that though So what type of driving do you do with yours? Mostly motorway?

Alternatively, I will be keeping an eye out for the plug in Prius when that becomes available. It might be ideal for me, depending on cost and specs of course.

my mileage is nothing at all like you two, in fact it would be embarrasing to put it, anyway, the few miles I have done in the six months we have had it, we are more than pleased, I think a lot out there are on a Toyota bashing spree.

Mine gets me off London congestion charge; no annual road tax and has been giving some 52mpg in the 6months of ownership and hoping for more in warmer months

We have two Prius cars in our family, mine does very little mileage but my sons Prius really puts on the miles on the continent and for business here. They are great cars and has previously mentioned save a lot of money on cost of running etc. No complaints about anything.
The BBC seems determined to smear and degrade Toyotas good name. The news last night gave the impression the Prius is an unsafe car. What a load of bull.

The whole media 'feeding frenzy' about this annoys the hell outta me, driving a Prius is different to driving any other car, even other autos, once people adapt to this new way, this problem disappears. they seem to be trying to make the Prius an unsafe car when it patently ISN'T Radio 2 were interviewing an abulance chaser yesterday who was advising prius owners not to drive their cars after the recall was issued, as they are now aware of a fault and if they have an accident they will be liable...IT JUST MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Just had the letter from Mr Toyota telling me there is a software update and they will contact me again soon.


as I said before, it seems like Toyota bashing, did not hear much when vauxhall bonnets kept flying open and smashing windscreens last year and that happened on loads of cars.

That way there is no profit in it for the lawyers and they will not take on the case.

Could not agree with your statements and feelings more. Today radio 4 reported [u]unsafe[/u] brakes on the Prius and this afternoon there will be a chat about it on Radio 4. I bet they give Toyota another bashing which is completely uncalled for.
The mat problem they keep on it about was resolved by a recall on my Toyota Avensis way back in 2003. The dealer of my 57 Prius never had to be asked to fit the securing lugs for the mats to the car on delivery it was just done. This has just been raised again to decry Toyota.
