I have a 2000 Land Cruiser. When I come to a complete stop or nearly a complete stop and let off the brakes, the brake pedal stays down and the brakes stay engaged for an extra half second or so. I doesn't happen all the time. Also, the barkes are very touchy and not smooth. It seems like some sort of delay, so when I push them down and get nothing I push a little further. Then, when the brakes do engage it is somewhat severe.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new master cylinder.

Someone told me it could be the booster pump. I also wonder if a caliper piston could be sticking. I really don't have any idea, but any suggestions are most appreciated.
