I have a Hiace Newlander motorhome. it is based on RH11 hiace chassis-cab. I have been using it this year for camping at Billing and also in the cotswolds last weekend.

It is in working order and MOTd but the engine is starting to clatter. Not sure what it is exactly, its worse at idle. Its not using any oil or anything, and has not lost any performance.

Does anyone have a spare 12R engine, or would anyone be interested in buying the vehicle as a project?

It has cooker, sink, gas boiler, fridge, and is a 3 berth. Pretty much all working, but needs to go to someone with some DIY skills, as there are things that need fixing on the camper part.

I would also consider swapping this vehicle for a good caravan.

I am near Crawley, Sussex.
I have pics if anyone wants one emailled

Years ago a drive around rural Wales used to turn up quite a few interesting roadside relics, left to moulder outside old houses and garages, but such discoveries are becoming a distant memory as areas get tidied up, and old buildings levelled to make way for more identikit housing. The best bet then to see classic Toyotas and Hiace Campers is at vintage gatherings such as that at Parc Glynllifon.
