A lighthearted suggestion, but how about the '2005 TOC Awards'?

Some catagories could be;

Manic Modder
Most Toyotas owned in one year
Funniest Poster
Strangest Meet Antics
Most popular Moderator
Best Male
Best Female

You get the idea Just thought it could be a bit of fun for the end of the year. If it's too big for mainstream TOC, how about Goldies only?

We are planning on doing something similar for the next TOC Mag.... was mentioned at the end of last times TOC Mag... although we were just gonna go for Top TOC Male & Top TOC Female, so I like the extra ones you've got there Caz!

Em - Yep, I was thinking of it as a possible extension to the original idea in the newsletter. With all these real awards ceremonies going on, I thought it could be cool to have the TOC 'Mock' Awards with some silly catagories and the not so silly

Ian - Like the 'Post Whore' catagory!

Jaxx - Containing it to the newsletter may help. Perhaps a bumper Christmas / New Year issue to review this years TOC Meets, People and Incidences

We could have little award graphics that peeps can put in their sig/avatar too.

Could be a good 'un.

I reckon we should have a Pillar of the community awards!

Some good ideas but I have never liked the idea of a BEST male/female award for anything...........

It's a flavour of the moment thing (or lets all vote for my buddy kinda thing) and could make newer members feel inferior - like they have to post loadsa times before they get the "nod" by the more established stawalts..............

It was just a follow on from the newsletter idea but you have a very good point there Gordy, didn't think of it like that

I lover the idea of awards like this and I gotta feeling there are gonna be some whacky ones thought up and voted on..........

First we gotta short-list some catagories and decided on them............

Maybve LES will go find some suitable smilies for illustrative purposes......

Yeah, i agree with Gordy - we need to avoid the 'popularity contest' ones - the comedy ones will be better...

Perhaps 'most trigger happy moderator' most bizarre declaration etc..

Well that's my tea postponed.

I was away on holiday then and missed that thread. Could happily have stayed that way!

Ok, thank you to everyone who have come up with some ideas and have contacted me via PM.

I think it's time to get a shortlist together, so I've collected everyone's suggestions and drawn up a list of some potential award catagories to get the ball rolling. If anyone has further suggestions or think I've missed out some good ones, let me know... remember this is lighthearted fun and not a popularity contest
